Passing of Fr Eric G Velandria SJ

It is with sadness that we inform the University community of the sudden passing of Fr Eric G Velandria SJ. Fr Eric returned to our Creator in the morning of 6 September 2025 in Grosseto, Italy.

Fr Eric served as a trustee of the University from 2016 to 2019 and was reelected for a second term, which he was unable to complete after being appointed Coordinator for Global Education at the Jesuit Refugee Service in Rome in 2020. Fr Eric was Chair of the Basic Education Committee of the Board (2014-2020).
