Blue8791 Annual Thanksgiving Mass
Tara na MULI sa Loyola para kay Maria, Misa ng Pasasalamat ng Blue8791, Inc. happened on
October 1, 2022 10:30 a.m. at the Kostka Chapel, Ateneo de Manila High School. The members
of Blue8791, Inc. are from GS ‘87 HS ‘91. The thanksgiving mass, held onsite and online, was
organized by the batch prayer group Days With the Lord (DWTL 8791), led by their chaplain and
batchmate, Fr. Jem Guevara S.J.
Since 2019, DWTL 8791 has been holding regular prayer meetings, recollections and masses for the continued spiritual formation of Blue8791, Inc. Since the pandemic happened, and Fr. Jem’s transfer to the Sacred Heart Parish in Cebu, such gatherings were limited in frequency and online. Despite this, the community has committed to a tradition of an annual October mass to celebrate the Feast of the Guardian Angels and their devotion to our Mother Mary, as well as a weekly community rosary via Zoom for the month of the Rosary. Before the mass, attendees and their families prayed the rosary with a guided meditation by Fr. Jem, who was flown in by the group from Cebu just the day before. Special intentions for the mass were made for dearly beloved batchmates and parents, for healing and thanksgiving for the generosity of pledgers to the TatakAsul Scholarship Fund. The TatakAsul Scholarship Fund of Blue8791, Inc. provides a full scholarship and allowances to ten Ateneo Senior High School scholars.
After communion, October medals and holy water were blessed and distributed among the
attendees. Blue8791, Inc. President, Ricky Nicolas, then gave thanks to those who participated
in the mass, and highlighted the growth of the scholarship fund and the success of the first ever
batch TatakAsul Golf Tournament last month. The mass ended with the final blessing, and
customary batch mass recessional, Song for Mary.
