For the 50th Anniversary of the Ateneo De Manila University’s Rizal Library, together with Ateneo’s ENTABLADO, Batang Rizal was brought to life. The children’s play was created by Christine Bellen and directed by Jerry Respeto.
The Ateneo Alumni Association partnered with the Rizal Library for this project. AAA’s very own president, Melissa S. Reyes played the role of Inang Gamu-gamo, a character from Rizal’s story of the moth that got burned by the flame.
Batang Rizal tells the story of Pepe, the young Jose Rizal and Pepito, a young boy from the present time. Together, they will discover what it means to be a hero. The play gives a fresh insight of how the moral of the story of the national hero plays a part in solving contemporary problems.
Batang Rizal is set to run until October 28. For more information about the play, contact Stacey Dy at 0916 327 3370.
