OBE Scholars Andrea Denise Ng, 4 BS Management Honors and Zachary Pangan 2 BS MIS-MS CS together with their teammates joined the 2017 ACTM Camp IMC last April 1 at the ICITE Auditorium, Megaworld Corporation Offices. The event was organized by the Ateneo Association for Communications Technology Management and GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications, Inc.
Camp IMC is a case competition on applying integrated marketing communications strategies. The challenge was to market a local product as a premium product and change the value and the international community’s perception of the product. For Andrea’s team, they chose the lubeg fruit wine from the Apayao province. Zachary’s team chose lambanog from Quezon Province.
“I think the most notable experience I had out of this competition was creating and refining an entire marketing plan in a span of a week,” said Andrea, a first time competitor. “Usually when I work on things like this for my classes, we’re given at least two months to work so coming up with something coherent and impressive enough was an interesting challenge.”
Zachary said that the competition was a great opportunity to enhance his skills and gain experience. “When I think of the possibilities this case study can open for the people really gets me excited because I can concretely foresee the direct impact of what I am doing now.”
Andrea and her teammates Kim Co AB IS and Patricia Ngo BS ME placed 2nd while Zach placed 3rd with his teammates Kirsten Kagura and Paul Enriquez.
